I’m a budget traveler and I want to be transparent with how much I spend on this trip.

I’ve been trying to keep track of everything. Probably I forgot a few things but this is a fairly accurate report in my spendings. The only thing not included here is sights and activities on which I have spent 142,25€. Huge shoutout to my Tier 3 Patreon Sponsors for that!Especially @steirische_pfadfinder_innen who I forgot to mention in the video!

The biggest category is food with 253,77€ or 42,3% of my total budget. I feel like this could be half as much or even less if I cooked more and spent less money in restaurants or for local dishes. But to me food is a huge part of traveling and I absolutely don’t mind spending more money to taste the culture of the places I’m traveling to.

As you can see, I spent 82,08 Euros at 6 occasions on alcohol. Most of which was a super fun night out in Van!
Even though I am hitchhiking most of the time I spent 58,74€ or 9,8% on Transport. The most expensive bus I’ve taken was across the border from Türkiye to Iran (9,6€).
I’ve been using @couchsurfing most of the time but for a total of 7 nights so far in hostels I’ve spent 45,94€ (7,7%) on accommodation. Which is less than what I spent on coffee and tea 😅
I’ve spent 39,70€ on mobile Data, of which a whopping 36€ was in Türkiye, 27,91€ on gifts for people at home as well as locals here!
The rest of the expenses have been:
11,04€ for “beauty” (haircuts and laundry)
8,17€ for street musicians
5,19€ for shopping (= a pair of flip flops because I lost my Birkenstock sandals 😔)
6,44€ on Shisha/Nargile/Ghalyan
5,02€ to get my jacket back in Serbia
2,78€ to pick up my money card here in Iran and 51 cents to print my Visa documents.
