Walking through the streets of Karachi I see lots of animals, especially cows, goats but occasionally even a camel. As my hosts explain to me this is because of the upcoming Eid Al-Adha festivities, where these animals will be sacrificed. Walking through the streets of Karachi I see many people smiling and waving at me. I see kids playing cricket on a dusty football field. (See Bonus Picture) And occasionally I catch myself breathing through my mouth.

I spend my afternoon with @daniyalshahidst , @syed.abbas.ali9 and @shamim1973us ! All three of them have been extremely hospitable and helpful and are great representatives of the Couchsurfing-Community of Karachi. Muhammad goes completely out of his way in order to help me book a ticket for the night train to Islamabad. The first train I’m taking on this trip. (See bonus video). A sleeper train that surpasses any sleeper train I’ve taken in Europe. At least the airconditioned section that I treated myself to.

After a cool night we arrive to Lahore and I have to get a new ticket for the rest of the way to Islamabad. I decide to go on the economy class this time and the experience is a wildly different, but even more fun one. Strangers immediately become friends and I constantly get offered the window seats directly under the fan. And the best part: enjoying the view at an open door to cool down a little bit and enjoy the setting sun. (See Bonus Picture) Train life is good and a really nice change to hitchhiking.
