After a journey on the overnight bus from Dharamshala to Delhi and almost missing my connecting bus I arrive at my final destination on the road: Agra, home of one of the most famous gestures of love in human history. The Taj Mahal. But what is almost even more extraordinary is who I am randomly meeting amazing humans again and again. Such as @eligiooo and @lauravmedina who are my roommates at @joeys_hosteland who I instantly connect with (See Bonus Picture). Together, we attempt to see the Taj at sunset. Of course we miss it but a huge amount of even huger fruitbats makes up for that. So does a spooky spectre 👻

Tuesday 25th of July
An early morning with another attempt. This time to catch the Taj Mahal at sunrise. The weather doesn’t play along but at least we avoid the big crowds. Instead a large group of local tourists is visiting together with us. They are willing to pose for a picture. Something that I hate which is why I do it only for a minute (See Bonus Picture) before sitting down to reflect and let the last 5 months pass by in front of my inner eye. What an incredible chapter of this journey.

I head back to Delhi and straight to the airport. I’ve heard mixed reviews of India’s capital but I have no interest to be swallowed by it just before hopping on a plane. At the airport I feel weird, out of place. Like a fish who was just taken out of water. The feeling of wanting to continue what I’ve been doing is strong. But at the same time the excitement for what’s next is huge. Ambivalent, as always.
