제25회 세계스카우트잼버리 25th World Scout Jamboree 2023
Three things are for sure:
1. the @2023wsjkorea_dream was nothing like I expected it to be.
2. it’s going to be absolutely unforgettable
3. Scouts are exactly built for scenarios like these.
You sent heat, floods and typhoons? We’re going to persevere. For years I’ve been telling people in both my private and professional life, that Scouting has shaped my life. That I’m using skills that I’ve learned every day. Doesn’t matter if it’s hitchhiking 18.000 Kilometers around half the globe or working a 9 – 5 desk Job as a journalist. Tackling challenges, believing in yourself and coming out with new experiences and learnings.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to sugar coat things. A lot has gone wrong, there were many screw ups in the organisation of this massive event. Some people may have had really bad individual experiences. And in the end, we had to leave the campsite early due to an incoming Typhoon. There were tears, saying goodbye to new friends way too early. It’s annoying that everyone is now scattered across the country.
Especially not being able to hang out and work with my teammates of the News & Broadcast team is upsetting. I was extremely blessed to have the opportunity to working with these amazing people. If weather allows it, I’ll see you in Seoul!
