I am currently traveling through Pakistan and today the Muslim world celebrates Eid Al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice. Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating!
Over the last days there were animals on sale everywhere out on the streets or at the so-called „Mandis“, the big livestock markets.
These animals are sacrificed, and slaughtered by a single cut through the throat. The slaughtered animal will then be shared in 3 parts: one part for those who can’t afford their own sacrifice, one for extended family and friends and one for yourself.
